Nothing makes me happier than spending some time at a luxurious spa. My muscles are still sore from the flight and the jetlag and it's nice to spoil myself from time to time. The Amala Spa offers an whole range of relaxation therapy packages and that's just what I need. They have reiki, acupuncture and Tibetan bowl music therapy among others but I decide to go for a good old Balinese massage. A full 90 minutes of pleasure and relaxation.
Maybe it's the smell of Ylang Ylang, the soft music or the rose pedals in the bath, but I know that I am gonna be in good hands here. The Amala Spa focuses on ancient Asian medicine and Western holistic philosophies and they work mainly with organic products. I like it here more and more every minute. After my feet have been cleaned and scrubbed it's time for me to lay down on the massage table. The sweet massage lady is a real expert and she finds my sore spots within seconds. And I have always considered myself such a relaxed girl 😉 Well my back tells me otherwise.
No speaking during the massage which I like very much! In the Netherlands the massage therapist tends to want to have a whole conversation with you!! From your childhood to your latest tattoo on your back. No thank you! I like this time to be in utter silence. In the beginning my mind still spins around with a thousand things to do, where to eat tonight and pics to take, but at the end it's just being in the now and utter bliss. I don't think I made to to the full 90 minutes though 'cause I might have dosed of the last 15 minutes, but I couldn't be happier:) I am totally zen by the time I leave the table. Ready for more Bali! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
